Best Gaming PC under $1000
We have already talked about the performance levels you can expect and the work you will need to put in to get the Best Gaming PC Desktop Computer under $500. The interesting thing is that, with about 70 bucks more, you can get a trouble free system that will also perform better than the systems we have talked about Best Gaming PC Under 1000.
We noticed while we were testing the 500 dollar computers that there were a couple of systems that were worth bringing to your attention. These systems work very well, right out of the box, and their performance level is high enough that they deserve a separate review article of their own.
Of course, for this kind of money, you will not be able to actually purchase a system that is anywhere close as high performance as the ones modern, obsessive gamers use, but it is good enough to let you have a bit of gaming fun. If you just need to know the gist, just check out the table below and choose the most expensive PC because that will also be the best,
|CybertronPC Hellion GM1213B Gaming Desktop PC||4.6/ 5|
|HP Envy 810-160 Gaming Desktop Computer||4.5/ 5|
|CybertronPC Kombat-X Gaming PC||4.3/ 5|
1. CybertronPC Hellion GM1213B Gaming PC
The CybertronPC Hellion is the least you can do and pay, without compromising your gaming experience. This is not the best gaming PC on our list, but it is the most affordable, and it will come through for you with exceptional gaming experience.
We are not going to go into actually comparing it with any other processor, because we actually do not have anything to compare it to at the moment, but suffice it to say that it has stronger technical credentials than any Intel processor.
Furthermore, the CybertronPC Hellion uses an Nvidia GeForce GT640 video card with 2 GB of dedicated video memory. With it, you also get a 16 GB of RAM and 1 terabyte HDD, running Windows 8, the 64bit version. All and all, there is no game on the market today, nor will there be one for a good several years.
Interestingly enough the case is an Aerocool Xpredator X1 with a 400 watt power supply, which is actually less powerful than most power sources in our other articles about less expensive gaming systems. The only difference now is that this is a high quality power source that can actually deliver most of that 400 watts and this system does not need anything more than that.
2. HP Envy 810-160 Gaming Computer
When buying a high performance best gaming PC under 1000 dollars, you would be excused to want to go with a product that has the guarantee of a big brand name. We think that you do end up paying a premium for it, but it may very well be worth it and we have to agree that the HP Envy 810 comes close to being worth the money just based on the parts it uses.
Still, with less resources, the i7 still has a better real life performance than the FX 6300. To give you an idea of just how much more powerful it is, consider the fact that it has received a 9523 points score in Passmark while the FX 6300 only scored 6440 points.
For the rest the HP Envy 810 is pretty standard for a PC in its class, it has 16 GB of DDR3 and a 1 TB hard drive. It also comes with the Windows 8.1 operating system, which is a somewhat more user friendly system than Windows 8.
The observant of you may have noticed that both systems use a GeForce GT 640 video card, but the HP one has 4 GB of dedicated DDR3 memory while the one on the CybetronPC has just 2. So, on and on, although you are paying a little extra, you are getting an incredibly stable and powerful system.
3. CybertronPC Kombat-X Gaming PC
CybertronPC Kombat-X is the another Best Gaming PC Under 1000 dollar, We decided to leave our favorite PC for last because now we have something to compare it to. It uses an AMD FX 6100 processor, which, except for the fact that it runs at 3.3 and not 3.5 GHz, is identical to the AMD FX 6300 of the Hellion.
That means it is somewhat weaker than the i7 processor on the HP system, but the reason we love the Kombat-X more is that it uses 2 AMD Radeon HD6670 video cards connected in a CrossFireX Configuration. To give you an idea of what that means, consider the fact that the AMD HD6670 is a perfect match for the GeForce GT 640.
Their clock speeds and memory bandwidths may differ slightly but their gaming scores are almost identical. And now, consider the fact that the CybertronPC Kombat-X uses not one, but two HD6670 video cards at the same time. That does not actually give you twice the performance but it does give you anywhere between 1.5 and 1.8 increase in performance.
Top that with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 Terabyte hard drive and you will get a system that is several times better than the Hellion and slightly more powerful and definitely more balanced than the HP Envy. So the only question remains if you should pay the premium for the HP brand.
If you are a computer geek and are not afraid of potentially opening and tinkering with your system somewhere down the line, your choice should be the same with ours, the CybertronPC Kombat-X. Still, if you are a parent buying this for your kid, then go with the HP and the peace of mind it brings.
